Bhanurekha Ganesan, popularly known to the whole world as Rekha was born on 10 October 1954 and is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood movies. Well-known for her acting abilities, simplicity and acknowledged as one of the talented actresses of Hindi cinema, Rekha started her career in 1966 as a child artist in the Telugu film Rangula Ratnam. Despite the success of several of her early flicks it was not until the mid-to-late 1970’s that she got fame as an actress.
Rekha made her debut as an actress in the successful Kannada movie Goa Dalli CID 999 in 1969. In that same year, she featured in her first Bollywood film, Anjana Safar. She had two films released in 1970: the Telugu film Amma Kosam and the Hindi movie Sawan Bhadon, which was considered her acting debut in Bollywood. She had to learn Hindi, as her naturally spoken language was Tamil. Sawan Bhadon became a superhit and Rekha a overnight star. Despite the success of her movies, she was often roped in for her looks.

She subsequently got several offers but nothing of substance. Her characters were mostly just of a glamour lass. She appeared in several commercially successful movies like Kahani Kismat Ki, Rampur Ka Lakshman and Pran Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye, yet Rekha was not regarded for her acting abilities.Some of her most notable films during the decade include the international movie Kama Sutra: A Tale Of Love and the commercially successful Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996 and Umraao Jaan.

Rekha: An eternal Bollywood actress.

One of the legendary actress in the Bollywood, Rekha was born On October 10, 1954 at Chennai. Her father was Gemini Ganesan a well known fact Tamil actor, while her mother was a popular Telugu actress, named Pushpavalli. Bhanurekha was the name given by her parents but later she was known by the name of Rekha.

Throughout the 1970s till date she has been considered as a Sex Symbol icon, known for her beauty, acting talent and dancing skills. She is considered to be eternal diva in Bollywood. Inability to speak Hindi, a dusky complexion as well as her weight are the factors which come in the way of Rekha to show her presence in the Bollywood. She took these challenges seriously and work over it. She does yoga to loose that extra weight and learned dance and most important Hindi. After making such hard efforts on her the Bolllywood icon come up in hindi movies and give big hits one after another.

This new and much improved Rekha went on to deliver box office hits like Nagin (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Khubsoorat (1980), Umrao Jaan (1981), Khoon Bhari Mang (1988) amongst others. Her Hindi film Sawan Bhadon was a major hit in the box office. This film brought her stardom overnight. Then afet she kept climbing the ladders of success and never look back. She is believed to have had several relationships and there were many rumors of relationships with other actors like Jeetendra, Vinod Mehra, Kiran Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan. Rekha got married with Vinod, which was not succeed and ended up with an divorce. Then after sometime she again married with a Delhi based business man Mukesh in 1990 which also ended up in a divorce, shortly thereafter Mukesh commit suicide 1991.

The real side of Rakhi

Rakhi Sawant is back on small screen again. Well, however, the reality shows usually features Rakhi Sawant and her ex-boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi, but it looks same like what used to happen with Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha at award shows.

It is seen that there are a lot of Facebook pages which are related to hating Rakhi Sawant. The latest Facebook page is termed as 'Thank You Pakistan for taking Sania Mirza, now take Rakhi Sawant.' It has 1,39,000 members.

Sometimes it becomes disturbing when some guys point out saying that Rakhi Sawant is a representative of all the bad and worst girls. On the other side of the coin, Rakhi Sawant is pretty good at her job; whatever people carry away their opinion of television.

As a reality TV fame Rakhi needs to set up those TRPs - lies, drama, etc are in the job description and the viewer's appetite. It's true that Rakhi Sawant does every work with big strength, humour and enttertainment. Even studded with lot of controversies, Rakhi still remains strong, that's a positive sign in the girl.
