Bhanurekha Ganesan, popularly known to the whole world as Rekha was born on 10 October 1954 and is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood movies. Well-known for her acting abilities, simplicity and acknowledged as one of the talented actresses of Hindi cinema, Rekha started her career in 1966 as a child artist in the Telugu film Rangula Ratnam. Despite the success of several of her early flicks it was not until the mid-to-late 1970’s that she got fame as an actress.
Rekha made her debut as an actress in the successful Kannada movie Goa Dalli CID 999 in 1969. In that same year, she featured in her first Bollywood film, Anjana Safar. She had two films released in 1970: the Telugu film Amma Kosam and the Hindi movie Sawan Bhadon, which was considered her acting debut in Bollywood. She had to learn Hindi, as her naturally spoken language was Tamil. Sawan Bhadon became a superhit and Rekha a overnight star. Despite the success of her movies, she was often roped in for her looks.

She subsequently got several offers but nothing of substance. Her characters were mostly just of a glamour lass. She appeared in several commercially successful movies like Kahani Kismat Ki, Rampur Ka Lakshman and Pran Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye, yet Rekha was not regarded for her acting abilities.Some of her most notable films during the decade include the international movie Kama Sutra: A Tale Of Love and the commercially successful Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996 and Umraao Jaan.

Rakhi lashes out on Kangana

Some time ago it was heard that Bollywood's drama queen Rakhi Sawant was getting aggressive over bollywood bubbly actress Kangna Ranaut's comment on the Kangana-Mika kiss scandal. But Kangana denied to kiss Mika Singh for a flick shoot stating that she is no Rakhi Sawant.According to reports it has been revealed that Kangna mentioned that she’s no Rakhi Sawant to do something like this.

This comment infuriated Rakhi so much that she said that how could Kangana do her publicity strategies, firing from her shoulder.Rakhi also said that she had never kissed Mika. He had forcibly planned one on her and the world knows that very well. If Kangana Ranaut is so publicity diva, she should have kissed Mika for the song and become popular.It was also witnessed what turn will this catfight take! Bollywood’s item girl Rakhi Sawant wants to show her appreciation to the Crime branch of Mumbai Police for snooping investigative journalist Jyotirmoy Dey’s murder case. The reality television actress, is planning to go to any level to help the family of the departed notch if required. Rakhi congratulates Bachchan parivaar

The whole Bollywood film fraternity is rejoicing together for the to-be mom and dad Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and guess what the B-town’s bold and beautiful item girl Rakhi Sawant is no omission. Rakhi says Sanjay Dutt is a criminal

The drama queen, item girl Rakhi Sawant, some time ago asserted that for her Sanjay Dutt, is not only a superstar, but he is just another criminal. Elesh prior in Swayamvar decided to shift to Mumbai

Rakhi Sawant made it clear earlier in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar her that the person with whom she’ll get married will have to stay in Mumbai with her as she would not leave her profession. Toronto-based entrepreneur Elesh Parujanwala who was selected as her life partner decided to shift to Mumbai from Toronto. Elesh was astonishingly unruffled and clear about his future plans. He said that there won’t be any need for a long-distance marriage, or for Rakhi to accompany him in Toronto.

The man was happy when he came on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. Elesh also mentioned that he grew up on a fastener diet of Bollywood in Toronto. He used to watch Rakhi Sawant in her movies and her music videos. At that time, he never thought he had one day be asking her hand for marriage. While we're on the subject, the decision to tie the knot with Elesh above the other short-listed participants came from Rakhi’s brother Ravi Kishan, who according to the grapevine reprimands her powerfully for even considering any of the other men.

Rakhi's Eight-Eggs Omelette n Aerobics with Jesus!

Rakhi Sawant, the famous item girl of Bollywood has suddenly changed her diet plans. She says she has done a lot of compromises for her size-zero figure but now she will not continue with that. Want to know about her breakfast? Well, from now on she will be having a heavy breakfast with an eight-eggs omelette, brown bread etc.Ooolala! Eight eggs? Rakhi Sawant the short temper Bollywood actress and Elesh Parujanwala is perceived as cool dude. These days on a reality show Pati, Patni Aur Woh that aires on channel Colors, the couples have to undergo a lot of stress taking care of the kids and earning their livelihood.

Rakhi on Pati Patni Aur Woh

Rakhi Sawant’s reality show Pati Patni Aur Woh that is aired on NDTV Imagine has earned the wrath of women and child development minister Krishna Tirath for child rights abuse after a Delhi-based NGO filed a complaint against the show.




The show treats children and toddlers in an inhuman manner. NDTV Imagine have received a notice from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) asking to stop the telecast of the show Pati Patni Aur Woh immediately.

The Indian version of the international show Baby Borrowers, has Rakhi Sawant and her boyfriend Elesh Parujanwala and four other celebrity couples playing parents to children as young as six months or less for a month.

The show depicts novice actors trying to pacify a crying toddler. Similar protests have led to the ban of Baby Borrowers in a number of countries, including the UK.
