Bhanurekha Ganesan, popularly known to the whole world as Rekha was born on 10 October 1954 and is an Indian actress who has appeared in Bollywood movies. Well-known for her acting abilities, simplicity and acknowledged as one of the talented actresses of Hindi cinema, Rekha started her career in 1966 as a child artist in the Telugu film Rangula Ratnam. Despite the success of several of her early flicks it was not until the mid-to-late 1970’s that she got fame as an actress.
Rekha made her debut as an actress in the successful Kannada movie Goa Dalli CID 999 in 1969. In that same year, she featured in her first Bollywood film, Anjana Safar. She had two films released in 1970: the Telugu film Amma Kosam and the Hindi movie Sawan Bhadon, which was considered her acting debut in Bollywood. She had to learn Hindi, as her naturally spoken language was Tamil. Sawan Bhadon became a superhit and Rekha a overnight star. Despite the success of her movies, she was often roped in for her looks.

She subsequently got several offers but nothing of substance. Her characters were mostly just of a glamour lass. She appeared in several commercially successful movies like Kahani Kismat Ki, Rampur Ka Lakshman and Pran Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye, yet Rekha was not regarded for her acting abilities.Some of her most notable films during the decade include the international movie Kama Sutra: A Tale Of Love and the commercially successful Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi in 1996 and Umraao Jaan.

Some time ago it was heard that Bollywood's drama queen Rakhi Sawant was getting aggressive over bollywood bubbly actress Kangna Ranaut's comment on the Kangana-Mika kiss scandal. Elesh prior in Swayamvar decided to shift to Mumbai

Rakhi Sawant made it clear earlier in Rakhi Ka Swayamvar her that the person with whom she’ll get married will have to stay in Mumbai with her as she would not leave her profession. Toronto-based entrepreneur Elesh Parujanwala who was selected as her life partner decided to shift to Mumbai from Toronto. Elesh was astonishingly unruffled and clear about his future plans. He said that there won’t be any need for a long-distance marriage, or for Rakhi to accompany him in Toronto.

The man was happy when he came on Rakhi Ka Swayamvar. Elesh also mentioned that he grew up on a fastener diet of Bollywood in Toronto. He used to watch Rakhi Sawant in her movies and her music videos. At that time, he never thought he had one day be asking her hand for marriage. Nutan was a very famous actress of her times and she has appeared in many successful Bollywood films of 1950s and 1960s. Chiefly considered for her acting abilities, Nutan was acknowledged as an talented dramatic heroine, and her acting skills often grossed praises and rave reviews from the critics and her fans. Nutan has been honoured with the Filmfare Best Actress Awardfive times.

Nutan started her career in Hindi cinema when she was just fourteen years old. She appeared in Hamari Beti in the year 1950. The movie was produced by her mother, Shobhana. In the 1960’s and 1970’s the lady gave various hits to Hindi cinema like Chhalia, Bandini, Saraswatichandra, Devi and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki .

The talented actress got her third Best actress Filmfare award in 1964, for her outstanding performance in Bandini, her fourth Filmfare award for Milanwas a great success. She starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 1973's Saudagar, for which she got a sixth Filmfare Best actress nomination. The list of praises was a never ending story for her. In 1978, she made a come back to the film industry with Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki and was honoured with the eight Filmfare career nomination and won her fifth Filmfare best actress award. Again she took break from work for almost three pretty long years and was seen in Saajan ki Saheli in the year 1981. In the enduring 1980’s she enacted characters in films like Meri Jung, Naam and Karma which were all successful hits. For Meri Jung Nutan got a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. Her very last movie released worldwide was Kanoon Apna Apna in 1989. She died in 1991 of cancer. Two of her notable projects Naseebwala and Insaniyat were released after her death in 1991.

One of the legendary actress in the Bollywood, Rekha was born On October 10, 1954 at Chennai. Her father was Gemini Ganesan a well known fact Tamil actor, while her mother was a popular Telugu actress, named Pushpavalli. Bhanurekha was the name given by her parents but later she was known by the name of Rekha.

They took on the Censor Board together last year but the drama queen Rakhi Sawant and Ishq Bector are now at loggerheads after the rapper went on a curse ride fume against her on air. The Canada-born Hip hopper singer made spiteful remarks against the reality TV actress during an interview on the radio channel BIG FM and in return Rakhi Sawant has threatened to take Ishq Bector to court. Rakhi Sawant told that she will be filing a case against Ishq Bector.

The assault was totally unnecessary and he will have to pay for it. The upsetting part is that the actress considered Ishq as one of her close friend but now she is going to take him to court and she also said that she’s being targeted for publicity again and again. Rakhi Sawant told that Ishq Bector hails from Canada and is discourteous towards the Indian culture. But now he will know the consequences of it. Because the item lass do not have a godfather, she’s been made a soft target for people like him who want to acquire publicity by insulting her.

The two had associated on Ishq Bector's last album titled ‘Jhagde’ and had sent a legal notice to the Censor Board when they banned one of their songs, 'Bhoot'. FIR to be filed against Rakhi, Rahul and others

A local court in Jaipur has ordered police to file an FIR against Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan and six others for supposedly threatening a man, who had claimed to have written the script of TV serial 'Rakhi Ka Swayamvar'. The petitioner Gaurav Tiwari maintains that the script of the serial was originally penned down by him but the production house used it without his knowledge which was a desecration of Copyright Act.

Gaurav Tiwari said he has lodged an FIR in this concern only. Gaurav Tiwari has now appealed in the court that he was continuously getting threat calls from these celebrities asking him to withdraw the charges that he has put on them as soon as possible. Gaurav Tiwari approached the court of additional civil judge in Jaipur with his complaint on March 30, 2011 and the magistrate directed the SHO Shyam Nagar on April 2, 2011 to lodge the FIR against eight persons namely Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan, Fajila Allana, Sameer Nair, Chetanya Deewan, Hemawat Choudhary, Karan Singh, Jitendra Singh Rathore under various sections of IPC including section 386 (Extortion by putting a person in fear of death, 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 120 B (Punishment of criminal conspiracy).

Meanwhile Sub-Inspector Hari Singh, Shyam Nagar police station, Jaipur asserted that the court orders have been received at the police station and the FIR will be lodged soon. 'Rakhi ka swayamvar', a marriage-based television reality show, saw a month-long drama where the actress had to choose her groom from a number of participants and finally decided to marry Elesh, who was a businessman from Canada. But she even called off her relationship with him. Then Rakhi also came as the judge on another reality show Rakhi Ka Insaaf and sooner was seen on Comedy circus to flaunt heself. So, let’s see what will the court decide for these stars.

Satish Maneshinde, Rakhi’s lawyer even stated that the division bench of JusticeA M Khanwilkar and Justice A P Bhangale have detain arrest at the hands of the Jhansi police. He said further that according to their information, a team from Jhansi already left for making the arrests. He said that thus they want protection from the court or an temporaryreliefthat no coercive action should be taken against these five until this plead is pending before the court. Now it has been heard that Siv Sena chiefBal Thackeray, in the final part of his interview in the party mouthpiece Saamna, once again took a hollow out at Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), without naming the party, over the addition of Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant in the party.

Maa Exchange started with celebrity mother Pooja Bedi, and till yet had several celebrities changing mothers with those from different backgrounds and families. Rakhi in Qasam Se Qasam Se

One again Rakhi Sawant is back in her new avatar of a sensual teacher! The small screen drama queen is not an item girl for the Bollywood movie Qasam Se Qasam Se, instead she is a sex teacher whose name is Delnaz Doodhwala. It has been assumed that fashion designer Charu Parashar is making her debut in Bollywood by designing Rakhi Sawant's outfits for the upcoming movie "Qasam Se Qasam Se".

Rakhi Sawant stated that Charu is making her costumes for her next film. For the first time, someone is giving her a different look. Rakhi Sawant sdaid that she’s very crazy about sarees, ghagra cholis and the designer has done fantastic clothes for her for her several shows. The item girl said that she have known Charu for three months now. The actress said that Charu can talk about her clothes and not the cast's. Rakhi Sawant who plays a sex-education teacher in the upcoming movie has danced on an item song sung by Mika Singh with whom she was sharing cold vibes since a long time. .

Recently controversy queen Rakhi Sawant patched up with Mika Singh. On a recent episode of the standup comedy show Comedy Circus , Rakhi Sawant hugged Mika Singh who had come as a celebrity judge on the show and publicly announced that they are buddies again. Now it seems like Rakhi Sawant is trying to take their friendship to another level. She recently did what she is best at to play an item girl. And the item song that Rakhi Sawant danced on was sung by Mika Singh. Ever since the item number, Rakhi has also been speaking about Mika and his item song which is like ' Bolne Mein Kya Jaata Hain '. The film Qasam Se Qasam Se is directed by debutante Ashfaque Makrani and will mark the debut of Azim and Faith. In the item song Azim and his group is trying to grab Rakhi Sawant’s attention.

Bollywood’s drama queen Rakhi Sawant has never feared of anything in life. She has achieved all fame with her hard work and bold attitude. After her break-up with her boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi, Rakhi in 2009, launched her reality show Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in which she decided to select her groom performing a swayamvara.


The show however earned lot of TRP’s and was aired on NDTV Imagine. On 2nd August 2009 the item girl chose her life partner, a contestant from Toronto, Canada, named Elesh Parujanwala. However, during the finale of the reality show Pati, Patni Aur Woh several months later, Rakhi Sawant publically announced that the couple had separated due to some differences. This time it’s not for her Botox treatmentor for her silicone implant, but this time Rakhi Sawant is creating waves for something else. It is heard that the item girl had gone a step ahead by getting a diamond tooth. Rakhi stated that she loves diamonds and dimond jewellery. The tooth that she have had made is of real diamonds and it is placed in her left jaw.

It was her keen desire to have one and now she have finally got it. As we all know that when Rakhi Sawant appeared on Comedy circus as a participant, she was stunned to see the Punjabi pop singer Mika Singh judging the show. One has to believe that item girl Rakhi Sawant wants to be in the news for one reason or another. The hot actress, however, has been trying hard to look sensual since few days. Rakhi Sawant as reported appeared on the sets of the Sony Entertainment Television’s laughter show ‘Comedy Circus Jubliee’ and left no stone unturned to catch the attention of the media.


Rakhi’s rapid speech implicated bending forward while posing for the camera’s to highlight her chattels. As per the sources, it has been learnt that the drama queen has signed a money-spinning deal with a mobile communication company too. The buzz making round is that Rakhi will collect a whooping amount of Rs. 2 lakh for every hour she will spend discussing with her fans in the advertising campaign. The bold and the beautiful diva is already on cloud nine these days after it was revealed that her show ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’ grossed more TRPs than Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ that was telecasted on NDTV Imagine. If we look at her early life, Rakhi Sawant attended Goklibai High School in the Vile Parle community of Mumbai and later studied at Mithibai College.

The actress is the sister of film director Rakesh Sawant and former actress Usha Sawant. While studying in high school, Rakhi Sawant was offered to perform a small dancing part in the flick “Joru Ka Ghulam”. The glam diva gained popularity with Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne in which she performed "Mohabbat hai mirchi". Since than she has appeared in Bollywood movies like Main Hoon Na and Dil Bole Hadippa! in which she flaunted on item numbers.. Rakhi was also involved in close relationship with Abhishek Avasthi with whom she was seen in a reality dance show Nach Baliye 3.

But soon they called off their realtionship and parted their ways. In June 2006, the actress was in limelight for the Punjabi pop singer Mika Singh, forcibly kissed her at his birthday bash. In 2009, Rakhi Sawant came up with a reality show titled Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in which she planned to select her life partner. In 2010, Rakhi's other reality show titled “Rakhi Ka Insaaf” aired from 16 October, gave her more popularity and the show grossed lot of TRPs. But when one of the participants of the show committed suicide, Rakhi Ka Insaaf was banned from airing. Well, Rakhi knows how to move on in life !!!

Rakhi again in limelight

The item girl who is well known for her drama and has been stayed in controversies. Rakhi Sawant has hitted the nest again. Not long after the drama queen was in the limelight for forcing a young man to suicide after she called him impotent, the actress has blamed to molest a Delhi-based guru, Swami Arvind, giving him a panic attack that made him reached to hospital.

The two were part of a reality show on India TV Bigg Toss somewhere based on Bigg Boss, which makes contestants stay together in a villa in Noida. One of the contestants said that he have left the show because Rakhi Sawant, whom he treated like his daughter, sat on his lap and made her do a close dance with her.However, the actress was asked not do such an act but she did not listen and humiliated him in front of the audiences. The man was shocked to see a woman molesting a man like this.Rakhi Sawant, however, denies the allegations filed against her.

The actress however stated that by accusing her of molesting him, she said that the man is only gathering mileage shooting gun from her shoulder. Rakhi Sawant also said that if someone get linked with her, he will surely get popular without making any efforts. Rakhi also told that he was not fit for the show.Bursted out with anger, the item girl asserted that she have taken off the mask that fraudulent man was wearing. Some are sure that it’s just another publicity strategy.It’s a new show and it’s none other than Rakhi Sawant, so it’s obviously all a pre-planned drama. Rakhi Sawant can cross any limit to become the centre of attraction. But if the priest is indeed in hospital, than something is fishy for sure!!!

It’s Swayamwar season

Looking her best every day, communicating with guys she have never met before and researching out which one of the men she was going to marry. When the bold item girl Rakhi Sawant announced her ‘Swayamwar' on television, in the starting the reaction of the Indian viewers was shock.


But during the show, Rakhi announced that she would be marrying Elesh Parujanwala who was a businessman who lived in Canada. Rakhi-Veena together

Pakistani actress Veena Malik and India’s princess Rakhi Sawant arrived at Indira Gandhi International airport few days ago to participate in India TV's unique World Cup Reality Show, Bigg Toss. Veena Malik said that she looked forward to do some exciting during the India TV reality show titled Bigg Toss, to be telecast daily from 8 pm to 9 pm prime time from February 17th.

Rakhi Sawant said that Team India will win the World Cup this time for sure. Asked about his favourite Team India player, Rakhi Sawant took the name of Yusuf Pathan. The item girl also mentioned that if Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni are the big names of cricket, then Rakhi is the big girl of Bigg Toss. The telecast dates for Bigg Toss have been scheduled for Team India's matches. Followed by episodes on 19th Feb, 27th Feb, 6th Mar, 9th Mar, 12th Mar, 20th Mar, Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final respectively.
